Abstract:
Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to the technical field of communications and provide a vortex beam antenna and a communication device. The antenna comprises a plurality of layers of metamaterial arrays, wherein each layer of metamaterial array comprises a plurality of metamaterial cells, each metamaterial cell comprises a metal patch, the size of the metal patch is determined by the phase distribution of required orbital angular momentum (OAM), and OAM beams of different orders are generated by dynamically regulating and controlling the phase of each metamaterial cell, so that a multi-order OAM source is implemented. The antenna has the characteristics of high phase precision and high OAM purity, so that accurate regulation and control of phases can be implemented, loss is reduced, and the problems in the prior art of large phase quantization error, narrow bandwidth and the like are effectively solved.
