Abstract:

A vibration damping device is provided with: a cylindrical first mounting member (11) connected to either a vibration generation section or a vibration receiving section; a second mounting member (12) connected to the other section; an elastic body (13) for connecting both the mounting members (11, 12); and a partition member (17) for dividing a liquid chamber (14), which is located within the first mounting member (11) and in which liquid (L) is sealed, into a primary liquid chamber (15) having a wall surface, a part of which comprises the elastic body (13), and into a secondary liquid chamber (16). The partition member (17) has formed therein limiting passages (21, 22) for connecting the primary liquid chamber (15) and the secondary liquid chamber (16). The limiting passages (21, 22) comprise: the first limiting passage (21) for causing resonance when there is an input of idling vibrations; and the second limiting flow passage (22) for causing resonance when there is an input of shake vibrations. The partition member (17) is provided with flow regulation chambers (23, 24) for connecting the primary liquid chamber (15) or the secondary liquid chamber (16) and the first limiting passage (21). The flow regulation chambers (23, 24) convert the flow of liquid (L), which flows into the flow regulation chambers (23, 24) during the input of shake vibrations, into a swirl flow.
