Abstract:
The present invention is configured such that a protrusion (38Ab), which blocks a portion of reflected light from a reflector (36A), is formed at an own-lane-side position on an upward reflecting surface (38Aa) of a shade (38A). Because of this, brightness of a vicinity region below an oncoming-lane-side cutoff line in a low-beam light distribution pattern is locally suppressed such that the driver of an oncoming vehicle is prevented from being inflicted by intense glare even when the host vehicle has pitched. Moreover, the present invention is configured such that a second additional reflecting surface (38Ab1), which reflects light emitted from a light source (34A) and reflected off a first additional reflecting surface (36Ab) formed on the front end of the reflector (36A) toward a projection lens (32A), is formed on the protrusion (38Ab) of the shade (38A). Because of this, a drop in light efficiency due to the formation of the protrusion (38Ab) can be suppressed to the minimum.
