Disclosed is a vehicle drive device comprising: a rotary electric machine; a transmission mechanism that transmits drive force from the rotary electric machine to a wheel via a shaft member; a case that accommodates the rotary electric machine, the transmission mechanism, and the shaft member; and a flow channel forming member that is accommodated in the case or formed as a portion of the case, and forms a coolant flow channel around the rotary electric machine, there being formed inside the case a first accommodating chamber inside which accumulates oil that can be scooped up by rotation of gears in the transmission mechanism, a second accommodating chamber that accommodates the rotary electric machine, a first communicating path which is provided in a partition wall, one end of the first communicating path being communicated with a space on one axial end side of the second accommodating chamber and the other end being communicated with the first accommodating chamber, and a second communicating path, one end of which is communicated with a space on the other axial end side of the second accommodating chamber and the other end being communicated with the first accommodating chamber and provided below the shaft member.
