Abstract:
The invention relates to locking devices for vehicle drive axle differentials with positive locking. According to a first embodiment, a vehicle differential locking device consists of locking elements that have the shape of a solid of revolution; locking through-holes provided in a housing of the differential and receiving said locking elements; depressions in an axle shaft gear, which are arranged on the surface of said axle shaft gear; and an annular locking sleeve arranged on the housing of the differential around the locking holes with the locking elements. The inner surface of said locking sleeve is provided with grooves for increasing the area of the contact pattern of a locking sleeve-locking element pair. The locking sleeve is connected to a drive and is capable of moving along the axis of rotation of the differential. In a vehicle differential locking device according to a second embodiment, the locking sleeve is rotatable relative to the housing of the differential about the axis of rotation of the latter, wherein the rotation of the locking sleeve can be halted in an "unlocked" or a "locked" position. The result is an improvement in the operating characteristics of the differential.
