Abstract:
A vehicle control device (31) is applied to a vehicle (10) provided with an engine (11) serving as a travel drive source, and a clutch device (16) provided to a motive power transmission path joined to an output shaft (12) of the engine. When a prescribed implementation condition is met, the vehicle control device reduces the motive power transmitted via the motive power transmission path by operating the clutch device and puts the vehicle in a coasting state, and when a prescribed cancel condition including at least an accelerator pedal condition is met during coasting, the vehicle control device cancels the coasting state by operating the clutch device. The vehicle control device is provided with: a travel determination unit for determining that the vehicle is in a coasting state; and a clutch control unit for implementing half clutch control that brings the engagement degree of the clutch device to an intermediate degree when, during the coasting state, coasting is first initiated and/or immediately before coasting is canceled.
