Abstract:
[Problem] To reduce discomfort given to a driver due to the difference between an acceleration request of the driver and the acceleration of a vehicle when a sailing stop state is canceled. [Solution] A vehicle control device that transmits driving force input from an engine to drive wheels via a continuously variable transmission mechanism, wherein if an accelerator is not depressed during travel, fuel supply to the engine is stopped and a clutch between the engine and the drive wheels is disengaged to put the vehicle into a first travel state, and when the accelerator is depressed during travel in the first travel state, the engine is started and the clutch is engaged to increase hydraulic pressure supplied to a pulley, and the timing at which the hydraulic pressure supplied to the pulley increases due to the accelerator being depressed during travel in the first travel state is later than the timing at which the hydraulic pressure supplied to the pulley increases due to the accelerator being further depressed when the vehicle is not in the first travel state.
