Abstract:
This variable magnification optical system comprises, in order from the object side: a first lens group having positive refractive power; a second lens group having negative refractive power; an intermediate group composed of lens groups of 2-5 lenses; and a final lens group having refractive power. During variable magnification, the distance between the first lens group and the second lens group varies, the distance between the second lens group and the intermediate group varies, the distance between the intermediate group and the final lens group varies, and all the distances between mutually adjacent lens groups in the intermediate group vary. The variable magnification optical system satisfies a predetermined conditional formula.
