Abstract:

A valve having a main body with fluid inflow port and fluid outflow port provided thereinside with not only a flow channel in communication with the inflow port and outflow port but also a valve seat disposed in the flow channel and further having a valve disc designed to turn or vertically move to thereby realize pressurized contact with or departure from the valve seat so that the flow channel can be opened or closed. The valve is characterized in that at least the main body consists of a polyphenylene ether resin composition containing a polyphenylene ether resin and a polystyrene resin as essential components. As other characteristics, there can be mentioned, for example, that the polyphenylene ether resin composition has a modulus of elongation of 1000 MPa or higher and tensile strength of 20 MPa or higher in 95°C atmosphere.
