Abstract:
The present invention suppresses variations in an oil leakage rate and stabilizes the oil leakage rate. Provided is a valve-stem-sealing seal apparatus (1) which seals the space between a valve stem (2) and a valve stem guide (3) for guiding the movement of the valve stem (2) in an axis (X) direction, and which comprises: an annular metallic ring (5) that is attached to an end section of the valve stem guide (3); and a seal body (7) that is integrally fixed to the metallic ring (5) so as to slidably contact the outer peripheral surface of the valve stem (2). The seal body (7) includes: seal lips (721, 722) that slidably contact the outer peripheral surface of the valve stem (2); a backpressure lip (725) that slidably contacts the outer peripheral surface of the valve stem (2) at a position closer to the valve stem guide (3) side than the seal lips (721, 722); and a backpressure auxiliary lip (726) that slidably contacts the outer peripheral surface of the valve stem (2) at a position between the backpressure lip (725) and the seal lips (721, 722).
