A valve device wherein a rotor has a hole-closing part (161) for changing the area of a first circulation hole that is covered in conjunction with rotation of the rotor. The hole-closing part has, on one side in the circumferential direction, a hole-closing-part end edge (161a) extending in the radial direction (Dr) about a prescribed axial center (Cv), and operates so as to begin to open the closed first circulation hole in conjunction with rotation of the rotor to the other side in the circumferential direction. The first circulation hole has a one-side hole end edge (121a) provided on one side in the circumferential direction of the first circulation hole and extending in the radial direction, and a second circulation hole has an other-side hole end edge (122b) provided on the other side in the circumferential direction of the second circulation hole and extending in the radial direction. When viewed along the axial direction, the one-side hole end edge and the other-side hole end edge are formed symmetrically with respect to an imaginary inter-hole center line (LFr) passing between the one-side hole end edge and the other-side hole end edge and extending in the radial direction, and having the prescribed axial center as its origin. The one-side hole end edge is formed so as to be farther from the inter-hole center line toward the outside in the radial direction.
