A vacuum circuit breaker (50) comprises: a vacuum valve (4) which is accommodated in a cylindrical tank (1); a movable-side shield (8) which is installed to a movable-side of a vacuum valve (4); a movable-side main contact point (2a) which is cylindrical and which covers the vacuum valve (4) and the movable-side shield (8) from the outside in the radial direction; a contact point driving mechanism (70) which moves the movable-side vacuum contact point (5a) and the movable-side main contact point (2a) in a linked manner; and an insulation rod (12) which transmits power to the contact point driving mechanism (70). The contact point driving mechanism (70) is provided with: a low gas pressure section lever (14) which is connected to a contact (43) via a contact pressure imparting mechanism that imparts a contact pressure to the contact (43); a rotating seal shaft (17) which is fixed to the low gas pressure section lever (14), which passes through the movable-side shield (8), and an end of which is exposed to a high gas pressure section; and a high gas pressure section lever (21) which is fixed to the part of the rotating seal shaft (17) that is exposed to the high gas pressure section, and which is rotatably connected to the movable-side main contact point (2a).
