Abstract:
An improved method and apparatus is provided to inhibit the transmission of vibration over a cable and conduit assembly. The invention utilizes a two-piece fitting (20) comprising a channel (30) through which the assembly cable (50) passes, A cavity (39) is provided between the outer surface of the cable (50) and the inner surface of the channel (26). This cavity (38) is substantially filled with a dampening paste, such as grease. The dampening paste inhibits movement of the cable (50) in a direction perpendicular to axis of the cable (50), thereby reducing or eliminating the transmission of undesired vibration.
