Description:
TRIMMING DEVICE FOR EDGEBANDINGS

Technical Field

The invention relates to a trimming device that has a printing surface for bonding plastic-, or wood-based edgebandings to a particle board, and is developed for cutting (trimming) the excess chips remaining on the edge and corner parts of the particle board after the bonding process.

Prior Art

Edgebandings having various colors and properties are used on furniture such as tables, cabinets, etc. Respective edgebandings can be manufactured in different colors, whether plain or with printing. Edgebandings can be made from different materials such as melamine, ABS, PVC, PP, wood.

Currently, edgebandings are bonded to the edge parts of furniture such as tables, drawers, etc. For example, various tools and methods are used to cut the excess chips remaining on the edge and corner parts of the particle board after the bonding process for the edgebandings bonded to all the edges of a table. The simplest method is to manually remove the excess chips formed along the edge with a cutter such as a utility knife, etc. However, this method is both troublesome and requires a significant labor force. Furthermore, the precision of the cutting process is not at the desired level.

Currently, there are some existing devices for the edgebandings for cutting the excess chips formed along the edges of the particle board. These devices can be placed on the particle board and moved along the edge of the particle board, thus performing the chip cutting process via cutting blades. However, these devices are not able to cut the chips in the corner parts. Furthermore, they can not perform the printing of the edgebanding on the edges of the particle board.

Therefore, currently, it is obvious that there is a need for a small-sized, portable, and practical trimming device that has a printing surface for bonding plastic-, and wood-based edgebandings to a particle board, and is developed for cutting (trimming) the excess chips remaining on the edge and corner parts of the particle board after the bonding process. In the patent search, no patent has been found that discloses the trimming device according to the invention.

The patent application publication No. US2014165809A1 relates to a cutting device for edgebandings. However, this device is a device that is used for cutting the edgebandings at the desired width. It does not have a structure that can be used to trim the excess chips on the edge and corner parts.

Object of the Invention

The main object of the invention is to develop a trimming device that has a printing surface to facilitate the bonding of plastic-, and wood-based edgebandings to a particle board and is for cutting (trimming) the excess chips remaining on the edge and corner parts of the particle board after the bonding process.

Another object of the invention is to develop a trimming device for edgebandings that combines three different technical characteristics, namely printing, edge, and corner trimming.

Another object of the invention is to allow to trim the excess chips on the edge and corner parts with the desired precision in a very short time after the edgebanding is bonded to the particle board by means of the cutting device according to the invention.

Another object of the invention is to develop a small-sized, portable, and practical trimming device.

Another object of the invention is to develop a device that can apply pressure to the edgebanding to facilitate the bonding of the edgebanding to the particle board and can easily trim the excess chips formed along the edges and corners of the particle board.

Detailed Description of the Invention

The invention relates to a trimming device (A) that has a printing surface (1.1) for bonding plastic-, and wood-based edgebandings to a particle board, and is developed for cutting (trimming) the excess chips remaining on the edge and corner parts of the particle board after the bonding process.

The trimming device for edgebandings (A) according to the invention combines three different technical characteristics (functions), namely printing the edgebanding on the particle board, edge, and corner trimming. A device is developed that can apply pressure to the edgebanding to facilitate the bonding of the edgebanding to the particle board, and can easily trim the excess chips formed along the edges and corners of the particle board.

As can be seen in the figures, the trimming device for edgebandings (A) according to the invention comprises a first body (1), and a second body (2) that can move in connection with the first body (1).

As can be seen in Figure 3, on the first body (1 ) a printing surface (1.1 ) is formed that can apply pressure to the edgebanding after it is bonded to the particle board by moving along the edge of the particle board, and thus allow much better bonding of the edgebanding to the particle board.

On the first body (1) and the second body (2), edge cutting blades (1.3, 2.1) are mutually placed to cut the excess chips of the edgebanding extending along the edge of the particle board.

Preferably two hollow cylindrical internal connection profiles (1 .4) are formed on the first body (1). On the second body (2), hollow cylindrical external connection profiles (2.3) are formed so that the internal connection profiles (1.4) can be inserted. The springs (3) are placed between the internal connection profiles (1.4) and the external connection profiles (2.3). Thereby, the first body (1 ) and the second body (2) can be moved manually in a way to approach and move away from each other. Air discharge holes (2.4) are formed on the second body (2) to prevent the air from being compressed between the internal connection profiles (1.4) and the external connection profiles (2.3). Alternatively, the said air discharge holes (2.4) can also be formed on the first body (1 ).

To cut the excess chips of the edgebanding extending along the edge of the particle board, a corner cutting blade (1.2) with an angled cutting edge (1.2.1) on the first body (1) and a corner cutting blade (2.2) with a flat cutting edge (2.2.1) on the second body (2) are used. In case the first body (1 ) and the second body (2) are manually approached each other, the angled cutting edge (1.2.1) of the corner cutting blade (1.2) approaches the flat cutting edge (2.2.1 ) of the other corner cutting blade (2.2) in an angled way, and performs the corner cutting process by serving as scissors.

Following the corner cutting process, the trimmed chips are discharged through the chip discharge cavity (1 .5) formed on the first body (1). Following the edge cutting process, the trimmed chips are discharged by means of the chip discharge channels (2.5) on the second body (2).
