Abstract:
A clutch piston (405) of a clutch (C4) of an automatic transmission (25) comprises a cylindrical extension section (405c) that extends in the axial direction toward an annular-shaped wall section (402) of a clutch drum (400). The annular-shaped wall section (402) comprises: an annular-shaped recessed section (402c) which is formed so as to be closer to an internal tube section (403) than the joining interface of a clutch drum (300) of an outer clutch (C3) and the clutch drum (400) and with which the extension section (405c) is mated; and an outer peripheral surface (421) that defines the annular-shaped recessed section (402c) and is in sliding contact with the inner peripheral surface of the extension section (405c). The piston (405) and the annular-shaped wall section (402) demarcate an engagement oil chamber (406) of the clutch (C4) further radially inward than the outer peripheral surface of the extension section (405c). A seal member (90) is disposed between the extension section (405c) and a columnar surface (421).
