Provided are a torque limiter and a method for reusing the same, wherein the costs of materials and the cost to produce components can be reduced, and the burden on the environment can be reduced. A torque limiter (1) is comprised of an inner ring (2), an outer ring (3), and a coil spring (4) provided in the outer ring (3) and incorporated between the inner ring (2) and the outer ring (3). The coil spring (4) is provided with a small diameter coil portion (7) which tightens an outer diameter surface (2g) of the inner ring to apply a tightening force to the inner ring (2), so that the inner ring (2) is allowed to be relatively rotated with respect to the outer ring (3) in accordance with the tightening force of the coil spring (4). The torque limiter (1) is collected after being used. The inner ring (2) is removed from the used torque limiter, and is degreased once and greased again. The inner ring (2) is incorporated in the torque limiter in a direction opposite to the former direction of the inner ring (2).
