Abstract:
In a torque converter having a stator brake, the capacity coefficient during an idling rotation is minimized so as to reduce the power consumption. The torque converter includes: a front cover (4), an impeller (5), a turbine (6), a stator (7), and a stator brake (8). The stator (7) has: a plurality of first stator blades (31a) arranged in the rotation direction; and a plurality of second stator blades (31b) arranged between the first stator blades (31a) and having a smaller length than the length of the first stator blades (31a) in the axial direction.
