Abstract:
A toroidal type stepless transmission where a pair of guidance surfaces (120,
120) is provided at trunnions (15). The guidance surfaces face to each other,
are perpendicular to the center axis of rotation of a power roller (11), and extend
in the direction perpendicular to pivot shafts (14). When a tangential force
in the direction along the pivot shafts (14) acts on the power roller (11), the
outer peripheral surface (110) of an outer ring (28) can be in contact with the
guidance surfaces (120, 120). Thus, rolling of the power roller together with
the outer ring can be smoothly guided relative to the trunnions by an inexpensive
and simple structure with an offset of a shaft section supporting the power roller
avoided. The toroidal type transmission is easily worked.
