Abstract:
A toroidal continuously variable transmission, comprising input and output disks opposed to each other rotatably on a same axis, a rolling element disposed between the input and output disks, and a holding force controller for controlling a holding force provided to the input and output disks according to the physical amount of the rolling element related to a thermal stress, wherein the holding force in the axial direction is provided to the input and output disks to transmit a torque between the input and output disks through the rolling element.
