Abstract:
Provided are: a titanium oxide particle/metal particle composition that has higher optical catalyst activity than in the prior art and that exhibits high antimicrobial properties irrespective of whether irradiation with light occurs; and a method for producing the composition. This titanium oxide particle/metal particle composition contains two types of particles, specifically: (i) titanium oxide particles in which no iron components or silicon components are formed in solid solution, and of which the surfaces are modified; and (ii) metal particles that contain an antimicrobial metal.
