Abstract:
The present invention relates to titanium dioxide semiconductor microspheres with crystalline phases of anatase and brookite, the bandgap of which corresponds to the ultraviolet-visible region of the electromagnetic spectrum. Furthermore, the present invention relates to the process for obtaining said microspheres and their use as a solar photocatalyst, preferably as a photocatalyst for the degradation of contaminants in liquid effluents and as a photocatalyst for the production of hydrogen. Therefore, the present invention is of interest to the area of photocatalysis, particularly for industries related to wastewater treatment and filtration systems and for the energy industry.
