Abstract:
A tilting pad journal bearing manufacturing method includes a first step and a second step. In the first step, a pivot fitting hole (3) that has an inner diameter smaller than the outer diameter of a distal end portion (1a) of a pivot (1) and that is recessed from an outer circumferential face (2a) toward an inner circumferential face (2b) is formed on the convex curved outer circumferential face (2a) of a tilting pad (2). In the second step, a concave portion is formed on the concave curved inner circumferential face (2b) of the tilting pad (2) by mounting the distal end portion (1a) of the pivot (1) to fit tightly with the pivot fitting hole (3).
