Abstract:
This thrust foil bearing (3) has: a base plate (30) having an insertion hole (30a) through which a shaft (1) is inserted, and a support surface (30b) that widens in a direction orthogonal to the axial direction of the insertion hole; a stepped member (50) carried on the support surface and formed separate from the base plate; and a back foil (20) extending in the circumferential direction of the insertion hole, one part of the back foil being supported on the support surface, and another portion adjacent to said one part in the circumferential direction being supported on the stepped member.
