Abstract:
Disclosed is a thrust bearing that is arranged facing a thrust collar provided on a rotary shaft. The thrust bearing is equipped with a top foil, a back foil, and a base plate. The back foil is formed of multiple back foil pieces arranged in the circumferential direction of the base plate, and the top foil is formed of multiple top foil pieces respectively arranged on top of the back foil pieces. Inner-circumferential-side recessed parts are formed in the base plate at sites supporting the inner-circumferential-side ends of the back foil pieces at the surface on the side of the base plate supporting the back foil.
