Abstract:
Provided is a threaded joint for steel pipes, the threaded joint being configured to ensure torque-resisting performance and also to reduce manufacturing cost. This threaded joint (1) for steel pipes is provided with a pin (10) having a male thread (11) on the outer periphery thereof, and also with a box (20) having a female thread (21) on the inner periphery thereof and fastened to the pin (10). The male thread (11) has a primary male thread (111) and a secondary male thread (112). The primary male thread (111) is formed as a trapezoidal thread having a certain thread crest width and a certain thread trough width. The secondary male thread (112) is disposed in the thread trough of the primary male thread (111) and has thread crest width and a thread crest height, which are smaller than those of the primary male thread (111). In a cross-section of the pin (10) taken in the axial direction of a pipe, the flank angle of the insertion flank surface (111c) of the primary male thread (111) and the flank angle of the load flank surface (112d) of the secondary male thread (112) are greater than zero degree, the flank angles being adjacent to each other.
