Title:
THERMOELECTRIC MATERIAL AND THERMOELECTRIC MODULE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2018/117045
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a thermoelectric material with an improved performance index and a thermoelectric module which do not require a nanoparticle material manufacturing process, in which an improvement in electric conductivity or Seebeck coefficient is achieved by means of a quantum confinement effect, and of which practical application can be expected. [Solution] A structure comprising a first crystal phase 11 and a second crystal phase 12 having a thermoelectric effect. The first crystal phase 11 forms a eutectic structure with the second crystal phase 12. In two opposing faces of the structure, each of the first crystal phase 11 and the second crystal phase 12 is present in a continuous or dispersed manner. The first crystal phase 11 is positioned around the second crystal phase 12. Alternatively, the second crystal phase 12 is positioned around the first crystal phase 11. The first crystal phase 11 causes a decrease in the thermal conductivity of the second crystal phase 12. Alternatively, the electric conductivity or the Seebeck coefficient of the second crystal phase 12 is increased.
