Abstract:
A casing (11) has a built-in heat exchange mechanism (12) having a thermoelectric device (20). The interior of the casing (11) has a primary channel (15) where a first air system flows and a secondary channel (16) where a second air system flows. The thermoelectric device (20) of the heat exchange mechanism (12) has a cathode (21) and an anode (22) opposed to each other and facing the primary channel (15) and the secondary channel (16), respectively, and a nanostructure body (23) of a conductive substance disposed on the opposed faces of both the cathode (21) and the anode, or on the opposed face of either one. The thermoelectric device (20) keeps the space between the cathode (21) and the anode (22) in a vacuum. The cathode (21) is cooled by field emission of electrons traveling from the nanostructure body (23) to the anode (22) by applying a predetermined voltage between the cathode (21) and the anode (22) to heat the anode (22). Thus, the first air system of the primary channel (15) is cooled to carry out air conditioning, and the second air system of the secondary channel (10) is heated to exhaust heat.
