A tapered roller bearing 1 is provided with: an inner ring 2; an outer ring 4; a plurality of tapered rollers 6 arranged between the inner ring 2 and the outer ring 4; and an annular holder 8 that has a small diameter annular part 10 on one side in the axial direction, a large diameter annular part 12 on the other side in the axial direction, a plurality of columnar parts 14 connecting the small diameter annular part 10 and the large diameter annular part 12 and in which a space defined by the large diameter annular part 12, the small diameter annular part 10, and the circumferentially adjacent pair of columnar parts 14 among the plurality of columnar parts 14 serves as a pocket 16 for housing the tapered roller 6. Each of the plurality of columnar parts 14 has a side surface 20 that faces an outer circumferential surface 6c of the tapered roller 6 housed in the pocket 16. The side surface 20 has a first side surface 26 and a second side surface 28 that is positioned further toward the small diameter annular part 10 than the first side surface 26. The second side surface 28 joins with the small diameter annular part 10 and inclines such that a width W in the circumferential direction of the pocket 16 is gradually expanded from the first side surface 26 side toward the small diameter annular part 10 side.
