Abstract:

A tapered roller bearing (1) wherein adjacent columnar parts (13) form a first catching location at at least a portion of the inner-diameter side of pockets (P), wherein the opening width on the inner-diameter side of the pockets (P) is narrower than the roller diameter of tapered rollers (4) at the location of that opening width in the rotational axis line X direction, and form a second catching location at at least a portion of the outer-diameter side of the pockets (P), wherein the opening width on the outer-diameter side of the pockets (P) is narrower than the roller diameter of the tapered rollers (4) at the location of that opening width in the rotational axis line X direction. In addition, protrusions (21) are formed on the inner surface of a smaller-diameter ring part (12) in the pockets (P). The smaller-diameter-side end surface of the tapered rollers (4) that faces the protrusions (21) is a substantially flat surface. Thus, it is possible to reliably prevent tapered rollers from falling out from a retainer.
