Abstract:
Systems and methods for configuring UEs for multicast reception in a wireless network. Embodiments disclosed herein relate to systems (100) and methods (400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1000) for configuring User Equipment (UEs) (102) for New Radio Multicast and Broadcast Service (NR MBS) reception in a Radio Resource Control (RRC) inactive state. The methods (400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1000) include configuring the UEs to efficiently and seamlessly continue receiving one or more multicast services configurations while the UEs transit from a RRC connected state to the RRC inactive state for a MBS multicast service reception. The methods (400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1000) include utilizing one or more signalling procedures to configure the UEs for the MBS multicast service reception. The methods (400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1000) include managing the multicast MRB configurations to receive multicast services in the RRC inactive state.
