Abstract:
Disclosed is a system for the accurate positioning of abnormal regions of brain fiber tracts. The system extracts whole-brain fiber connections from diffusion magnetic resonance data, and extracts fiber tract pathways via custom fiber tract pathways or based on a brain fiber tract template. Selected fiber tract pathways are projected onto a whole-brain fiber connection result and finely segmented. The diffusion magnetic resonance data is used for calculating imaging indexes such as fractional anisotropy, mean diffusivity, intra-neurite volume fraction, orientation dispersion index, etc., so as to obtain an imaging index for each node of each fiber tract pathway. The imaging indexes are used in a machine learning method to classify into a disease group and a healthy group, with the ability to accurately locate which nodes on which fiber tract pathways have undergone abnormal changes under various diseases. The invention utilizes a spherical constrained deconvolution reconstruction method to estimate a fiber direction function on each voxel, so as to reconstruct the fiber distribution on each voxel, and can effectively solve the problem of fiber intersection.
