Abstract:

A synthetic resin retainer and a ball bearing using the synthetic resin retainer. The synthetic resin retainer is formed by connecting two sheets of annular bodies by the engagement of engagement claws with engagement holes to prevent it from being worn at the engagement parts of the engagement claws for integrally connecting two annular bodies to each other. A plurality of semi-spherical pockets (4) are formed in the abutting faces of two annular bodies (1) and (1) circumferentially at equal intervals, and the engagement claws (6) and the engagement holes (5) are formed at the engagement parts (3) between the adjacent pockets (4). The engagement claws (6) are so engaged with the engagement holes (5) that a clearance in the radial direction of the retainer can be formed between the engagement claws (6) and the engagement holes (5) at the beginning of the insertion of the engagement claws (6) and can be set to 0 or less in the engaged state of the engagement claws (6) with the engagement holes (5). Thus, the engagement parts of the engagement claws (6) can be prevented from being slid in the radial direction of the retainer.
