Title:
SWING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2005/049367
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A swing device (pivot/swing device) is constructed such that a swing arm (55) is provided between a pivoting pedestal (45) and a cushion base (51) and that the swing arm (55) is swung about a drive shaft (60) to swing the cushion base (51), that is, to lift and lower and move forward and backward the cushion base (51). The cushion base (51) supports a seating section (30) of a seat. When the seat is at a forward-facing position where the seat faces the forward of a vehicle, the swing arm (55) is obliquely connected (Z shape) between the outer faces of both members (51, 45), forming opposite angles. Accordingly, in this forward-facing position, the swing arm (55) does not protrude above the cushion base (51) and the pivoting pedestal (45) does not protrude from a side of the seating section (30). Therefore, the dimensions of the device in the width and the height direction can be reduced.
