Abstract:

The present invention addresses the problem of providing a surface treatment agent capable of forming a surface treatment coating film having excellent electric corrosion resistance. The problem is solved by a surface treatment agent for a carbon steel material, the surface treatment agent containing silicone resin (A), titanium compound (B), barium compound (C), aromatic hydrocarbon solvent (D) and amino group-containing alkoxysilane (E), wherein: (I) the ratio (BM/AM) of the mass of compound (B) (BM) to the mass of silicone resin (A) (AM) is within the range of 0.05 to 3.12 inclusive; (II) the ratio (CM/AM) of the mass of compound (C) (CM) to the mass of silicone resin (A) (AM) is within the range of 0.02 to 0.55 inclusive; and (III) the ratio (EM/AM) of the mass of compound (E) (EM) to the mass of silicone resin (A) (AM) is within the range of 0.01 to 0.43 inclusive.
