Abstract:
The present invention provides a surface-treated steel sheet that can be produced without the use of hexavalent chromium and that has both excellent adhesiveness to a BPA-free coating material and BPA-free coating corrosion resistance. Provided is a surface-treated steel sheet comprising, on at least one surface of a steel sheet, a metal Cr layer and a Cr oxide layer disposed on the metal Cr layer, wherein an ethylene glycol contact angle is not more than 50°, and the total of atomic ratios, relative to Cr, of K, Na, Mg, and Ca adsorbed on the surface is not more than 5.0%.
