Title:
SUPERCONDUCTING CABLE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2007/116520
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A superconducting cable that without having a vacuum thermal insulation structure, can maintain given adiabatic properties. There is provided a superconducting cable comprising cable member (100) having a housing tube and, housed therein, a core including a superconducting conductor layer and an insulation layer; thermal insulation member (200) disposed outside the cable member (100) and held in non-vacuum condition; and seal member (300) capable of preventing moisture infiltration into the thermal insulation member (200). By virtue of the disposing of the thermal insulation member (200) held in non-vacuum condition outside the cable member (100), given adiabatic properties can be ensured without employment of a vacuum thermal insulation structure.
