Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a supercharger capable of preventing damage to an impeller and suppressing reduction in performance. A supercharger (1) comprises: a rotor shaft (4) to be rotationally driven; a compressor impeller (12) mounted on the rotor shaft (4); and a cylindrical bearing portion (5) having an inner cylinder (14) and an outer cylinder (15) and supporting the rotor shaft (4) such that the rotor shaft (4) is freely rotatable. The inner cylinder (14) is connected, at the other axial end portion thereof, to the other axial end portion of the outer cylinder (15), and a first damping portion (21) is provided at a position between one axial end portion thereof and one axial end portion of the outer cylinder (15). A second damping portion (25) is provided between a housing (6) and the other end portion of the outer cylinder (15). The housing (6) and the bearing portion (5) are fixed by a flange portion (15c) provided at one end portion of the outer cylinder (15) such that the movement of the flange portion (15c) in the radial direction and the movement thereof in the axial direction are restricted.
