Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a strain wave gearing capable of increasing the teeth in mesh between an external gear and an inner gear being simultaneously engaged, so as to increase the value of transmittable torque. [Solution] A strain wave gearing (1) comprises: an external gear (3) to be elastically deformed into an elliptical shape by a wave generator (2); and an internal gear (4) to be engaged with the external gear (3) at a position closer to the major axis of the external gear (3). An addendum face shape of the external gear (3) is constituted by a tooth-shaped basic curve and an addendum arc. A dedendum face shape of the external gear (3) is constituted by a tangent to a tooth-shaped basic curve at an intersection between the tooth-shaped basic curve and a reference pitch circle, and a dedendum arc. A tooth face shape of the internal gear (4) is constituted by a tooth-shaped basic curve and a dedendum arc. The tooth-shaped basic curve has a shape obtained by reducing, in a normal direction, a relative movement locus curve drawn by a relative movement locus of the external gear when the external gear and the internal gear engage with each other.
