Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to perform fine control of a step motor. This step motor drive device includes a step motor (20) comprising a rotor (22), a stator (23a, 23b), and a coil (21) for generating a magnetic force toward the stator, a drive circuit (7) for outputting a drive signal including a plurality of partial signals that are output intermittently, a detecting circuit for detecting a counter electromotive current generated in the coil after each partial signal has been output, and a control unit for controlling the drive circuit, wherein: the drive circuit outputs any partial signal contained in the drive signal to the coil, and outputs the next partial signal to the coil in accordance with a change in the counter electromotive current generated in the coil after the partial signal has been output; and the control unit determines a control system for the step motor on the basis of intervals between the plurality of partial signals, and controls the drive circuit on the basis of the determined control system.
