Abstract:
A rack housing (17) and a speed reducer housing (18) accommodate a ball-screw mechanism (30) and a speed reducer (40). Within the rack housing (17) and the speed reducer housing (18), a gap (S1a) is provided between the left end of a nut (31) and the rack housing (17), and a gap (S2a) is provided between the right end of the nut (31) and the rack housing (17). A groove (50) serving as a communication passage in communication with the gaps (S1a, S2a) on both axial sides of the nut (31) is provided in the outer peripheral surface of the nut (31). The groove (50) is provided so as to avoid a circulation passage (C) provided in the nut (31). The groove (50) is provided axially and rectilinearly from the end of the nut (31), which is located on the side opposite a flange section (31a), to the flange section (31a) and is provided along the flange section (31a).
