Abstract:
The present specification discloses stainless steel for a fuel cell separator, the stainless steel having excellent surface electrical conductivity. According to an embodiment of the disclosed stainless steel for a fuel cell separator, the stainless steel having excellent surface electrical conductivity, when the surface of the stainless steel containing 15 wt% or greater of Cr is measured by X-ray angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy using an Al-Kα X-ray source under a condition of a photoelectron take-off angle of 12-85°, the measured value of surface oxide element ratio (1) below may be 0.2 or greater. The Cr oxide means Cr3O4, Cr2O3, CrO2, or CrO3, and the Cr hydroxide means CrOOH, Cr(OH)2, or Cr(OH)3. The total oxide and hydroxide comprise the Cr oxide, the Cr hydroxide, an Fe oxide, an Fe hydroxide, and a metal oxide (MO), wherein the metal oxide (MO) comprises a mixed oxide, M is an alloy element in a mother material, other than Cr and Fe, or a combination thereof, and O means oxygen.
