Abstract:
A retainer for a sprag one-way clutch comprises pockets (6) for retaining sprags (4) along the circumferential direction, wherein the number of pockets is the same as the number of sprags (4), and comprises a dummy pocket (7) comprising a hole that passes from the inner diameter side to the outer diameter side between pockets (6, 6) adjacent in the circumferential direction. The retainer (5) comprises an outside retainer (5a) that is positioned to the outer diameter side in an annular space, and an inside retainer (5b) that is positioned on the inner diameter side in the annular space. Each of the outside and inside retainers respectively comprises a joint (w1, w2) where the ends of a belt member are joined in one location in the circumferential direction.
