Abstract:
Provided is a speed reduction mechanism having contradictory functions that can reduce backlash and that can ensure back-drivability even with a high speed reduction ratio. The speed reduction mechanism according to the present invention comprises: an input shaft member (120) having a substantially cylindrical shape and coupled to an input shaft that is rotatably supported; a precession member (140) which performs a precession movement in accordance with the rotation of the input shaft member and which has a tilt holding means (150) for providing tiltable hold with respect to the axial center of the input shaft; a rolling member (180) disposed on a peripheral surface of the precession member (140); and an output shaft member (160) coupled to an output shaft and having a peripheral surface in which a wavy groove (WG1) is formed, the wavey groove having a predetermined cycle, the rolling member (180) engaging with the wavy groove (WG1).
