Abstract:
This speed reducer is provided with: a casing; an input section which is supported so as to be rotatable about a center axis relative to the casing; a first rotating assembly for transmitting a rotational force between the first rotating assembly and the input section; a second rotating assembly for transmitting a rotational force between the second rotating assembly and the first rotating assembly; an annular first internal gear located radially outside the first rotating assembly, on the inner surface of the casing; and an annular second internal gear located radially outside the second rotating assembly, on the inner surface of the casing, wherein the speed reducer is characterized in that the first rotating assembly includes a gear formed from a synthetic resin containing whiskers, and the second rotating assembly includes a gear formed from a metallic sintered body.
