Abstract:
A spark plug, an engine, an ignition method for a spark plug and an ignition method for an engine, which relate to the field of engine ignition technology. The spark plug comprises a casing (1), a discharge electrode (2) and a ground electrode (3), wherein a pre-combustion chamber (5) having an opening (4) is formed in the casing (1), the ground electrode (3) is disposed in the pre-combustion chamber (5), and the discharge electrode (2) extends into the pre-combustion chamber (5) and forms an ignition gap (6) between the discharge electrode (2) and the ground electrode (3). After the spark plug is mounted on a cylinder head of an engine, the pre-combustion chamber (5) communicates with a combustion chamber of the engine by means of the opening (4). In said manner, after a mixture of fuel and air enters into the combustion chamber, a portion will traverse the opening (4) and enter into the pre-combustion chamber (5). Since the pre-combustion chamber (5) has a small volume, at said time, an electric spark formed by means of the discharge between the discharge electrode (2) and the ground electrode (3) ignites the fuel. A high-temperature and high-pressure combustion gas formed in the pre-combustion chamber (5) injects into the combustion chamber by means of the opening (4), and then ignites the fuel in the combustion chamber, thereby achieving stable and efficient ignition and combustion.
