Abstract:
A solid state braking mechanism (100) and a robot comprising said solid state braking mechanism (100), the solid state braking mechanism (100) comprising: a brake pad (110), wherein a telescopic gap (101) and a groove (102) that is in communication with the telescopic gap (101) are provided on the brake pad (110), the brake pad (110) may expand and contract by means of the telescopic gap (101), a piezoelectric ceramic sheet (103) is provided within the groove (102), the piezoelectric ceramic sheet (103) can extend after being powered on, and two ends thereof in the extending direction abut against the groove (102); and a fixed portion (120), which is provided at the periphery of the brake pad (110) and is suitable for making contact with the brake pad (110) after the brake pad (110) is pushed by the piezoelectric ceramic sheet (103) to extend, thereby providing a braking force. The described solid state braking mechanism (100) is small in volume, light in weight, has a simple structure, and has relatively high torsional rigidity; after the solid state braking mechanism (100) is installed, the volume and the weight of a robot will also correspondingly decrease, and relatively high torsional rigidity can be provided to a joint and an arm connection rod.
