Abstract:
A sliding-type constant-velocity universal joint 1 for a propeller shaft is provided with an outer-side joint member 2, an inner-side joint member 3, eight torque-transmitting balls 4, and a retainer 5. A center O1 of curvature of a spherical outer peripheral surface 12 of the retainer 5 and a center O2 of curvature of a spherical inner peripheral surface 13 have the same offset amount (f) toward opposite sides in an axial direction relative to the center O3 of a pocket 5a. The ratio f/PCDBALL between the offset amount (f) of the retainer 5 and the pitch circle diameter (PCDBALL) of the torque-transmitting balls 4 is 0.07 or more and 0.09 or less.
