Abstract:
Provided is a sliding component in which sliding surfaces are spaced apart from each other for relative rotation toward both directions to achieve excellent lubrication. A sliding component 10 is disposed so as to face a position for relative rotation of a rotary machine and comprises a sliding surface 11 provided with a first dynamic pressure generation groove 14 extending so as to be inclined with respect to the relative rotation direction and a second dynamic pressure generation groove 15 extending so as to be inclined in the direction opposite to the first dynamic pressure generation groove 14 with respect to the relative rotation direction. The first dynamic pressure generation groove 14 and the second dynamic pressure generation groove 15 have bottom surfaces 14a, 15a that are radially inclined in the same direction.
