Abstract:
Provided is a sliding component with which positive pressure can be reliably generated at a terminating end part of a dynamic pressure generation groove. A sliding component 10 is disposed at a location where a rotary machine relatively rotates, and slides relatively with respect to another sliding component 20. A dynamic pressure generation groove 13 having a starting end part 13A and a terminating end part 13B is provided in a sliding surface 11 of the sliding component. In the dynamic pressure generation groove 13, a first groove part 14 extending in the circumferential direction on the starting end part 13A side and a second groove part 15 extending in the circumferential direction on the terminating end part 13B side are disposed so as to be deviated from each other in the circumferential direction and the radial direction. The first groove part 14 and the second groove part 15 are in communication with each other by means of an inclined groove part 16 that extends in an inclined manner from the first groove part 14 toward the downstream side in the relative rotation direction.
