Abstract:
Provided is a sliding component with which a high lubrication property can be obtained across the entire sliding surface. The annular sliding component 10, which is arranged at a location of a rotary machine that undergoes relative rotation, has a sliding surface on which a plurality of positive pressure generation grooves 15, which generate positive pressure when a sealed fluid F on a sealed fluid side is introduced during relative rotation of sliding components 10 and 20, are arranged side by side in the circumferential direction. Each positive pressure generation groove 15 has a tip-most end portion 9a at the tip-most end on the downstream side in the direction of relative rotation, and at least a portion of the plurality of tip-most end portions 9a, which are arranged side by side in the circumferential direction, are arranged at mutually different positions in the radial direction.
